NOKIA 6.1: THE BEST BUDGET SMARTPHONE THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BUY.

As the Nokia series launched their 2018 version of Nokia 6 (also known as Nokia 6.1);
I reached to the closest Nokia outlet to make it mine.

As the title already suggested, this blog is purely here for why this new model is the best but also the worst for the same.

Though the language might get a little bit sloppy this time, but bear with me as I guide you to the other side...

My first impressions

When booting this HMD-monstrosity for the first time, I was left in a having the feeling that I also had when I booted up the Moto G5s Plus and Google Pixel 2.

But unlike the G5s plus, this one had a different body.

On the top (front) it had a 8 Megapixel shooter with a Nokia branding on the right of the camera.

And down it had nothing.

On the back side it had a 16-Megapixel Zeiss optics shooter with Flash and a Nokia branding following a Fingerprint sensor.

On all the fronts combined, it had Volume rockers, Power button, sim+sd card tray and a 3.5mm headphone jack also with a USB type C charging port.

Looking overall it has good built quality but it's back is effectively a Fingerprint catcher.

Ok for all that, but what about it's Technical Configurations?

This phone has two variants having 3/4 GB RAM and 32/64 GB ROM. Both the variants have expandable memory up to 128 GB.

It also features Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor clocked @ 2.2 Ghz.

Talking about Battery, it has 3000 MaH battery. Though it does not easily last a day and needs charge like every 10-12 hours.

Plus if you are a heavy gamer, expecting the battery to run more than 8-hours is stupidity.

Speaking about Gaming, this phone has a little less than decent performance while gaming and heating issues are not rare.

How about the software side?

It comes pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo and on the plus side it comes with Android One program which guarantees you with 2 years of Security and Software updates along with UNLIMITED ONLINE PHOTO STORAGE on Google Photos account for lifetime.

Honestly speaking this is the only part which leaves me a bit satisfied.

But why didn't you like it?

After reading the specs you might be thinking that 'this phone is awesome!' but hold your mouth before you even arrive to price.

The 3/32 GB variant has a price tag of whooping $270!!

Come on Nokia, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 which is going to release soon has 6 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM price at no more than $255!

Like what? And this phone (the Asus one) confirms a guaranteed Android update for 2 next Android versions (up to android Q or Android 10)

Though it doesn't have that unnecessary Unlimited photo feature but still it is better in every other sphere.

It has less bezels than Nokia 6.
It has 2-Back Cameras instead of only one in Nokia and still has that 5.5 inch FHD display with 16:9 Aspect ratio.
The most shocking thing for me was that the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 comes with a massive 5000 MaH battery which lasts 2 day with normal usage and at least 12 hours with extensive gaming.

Why would I really need the Nokia phone then?

Plus when I benchmarked he Nokia 6.1, I was not satisfied that much.

Conclusion?

This blog is not at all to insult Nokia, but a very unfiltered advice to them.

If you are a heavy user, don't go with Nokia 6.1

Although if you trust in the so called "Company name and branding", Nokia can be a good choice for you.

So guys, this was all for today and hope you guys found it useful.
