HOW TO TERRIBLY LOSE YOUR PRIVACY ON PUBLIC WIFI

After Facebook and Jio network have started placing free WiFi zones in Metropolitan cities of India, a question have been lingering in my mind for a bit while.

Is using the free public WiFi secure?

Now most of you guys might not care about that so much but it is a serious point of concern for every single person using those network in the greed of getting a FREE daily internet limit of 1 GB (which is still some good data plan competitor).

I mentioned about Protecting your online privacy in this blog.

Now the question is what risks exist and how you should avoid them.

The existing Risks.

As you guys can think by yourself, risks that exist are pretty big.

Take for instance, someone can easily sneak into the public network using Hacking softwares like MetaSploit or Aircrack-ng.

And then, the hacker can either get into your device or send malicious files all over the network to every connected user thereby putting everyone at risk.

So this makes public wifi a complete Ground-Zero.
But come-one! It's free WiFi!! it is worth the risk (Not actually though).

The Solution (Somewhat)

This solution is somewhat known but for the sake of security, I am writing it. again.

Using a VPN would be a good solution if not the best one.
For a more extensive guide on what a VPN is, Click here.

But then, for some of my old readers, this blog might seem a bit of a waste as I already mentioned all of this stuff before.

But the aim of this blog is not to REPEAT, but is to REACH.

I just can't emphasize on how important your digital identity is.

If there were some sort of dark-market where you can sell your digi-identity, it might be worth of a grand or two.

The Precautions

In order to hold yourself digitally, you need to take care of a few things...
  • Don't give your real name, address, phone number or any information to anyone but to your very close people.
  • Avoid using online Chat-rooms, less secure discord-chats, etc.
  • You can use platforms like KIK if you want but BE AWARE.
  • Don't go away on fighting with someone you don't know, online.
  • If you are on a Tech forum (especially the ethical hacking ones, keep in mind to not give your MAC address)
  • Always use a VPN connection when on a public WiFi.

So guys, this was all about it for today, hope you all enjoyed it, please be sure subscribe.
